Course Reserves provide students with access to required and supplementary learning materials in support of research, teaching, and learning. Stoxen Library offers both physical and electronic course reserves.
Physical Course Reserves are located in Stoxen Library. They can consist of books, periodicals, and videos. These items can be owned by the library or owned by the instructor. To put items on physical reserves, the instructor needs to fill out the physical course reserves form (one form for each class that will be using physical reserves). This form lets the instructor specify which course the items are for, how long the items should remain on reserve, and the length of the loan. The library manages the reserve items based on what the instructor puts on the form. Any instructor owned material is returned at the end of the semester unless the instructor makes other arrangements.
A list of your physical course reserves can be linked to your Blackboard Course. For more information about this option, check out our Reading Lists LibGuide. Contact Stoxen Library to get started!
Electronic Course Reserves are housed in Reading Lists. Electronic Course Reserves can consist of library owned and/or licensed eBooks, articles from licensed databases, streaming video from databases, documents, things found on the open web, and more! Stoxen Library monitors Electronic Course Reserves for copyright compliance. For more information on copyright in Electronic Course Reserves, check out Stoxen Library Electronic Copyright Policy.
If you are interested in using Electronic Course Reserves, please fill out the electronic course reserves form. This will give the library information about how we can best help you.
